Everyday Activities to burn calories

Instructions: Read the text. Look at the verbs in bold.

Everybody knows exercise is important not only for physical and mental health, but also for longevity. There are times, however, that life, career and family obligations take precedence, which makes fitting in exercise a real challenge. But getting your daily dose of fitness doesn’t have to take a backseat to other, more pressing demands. Research indicates there are a number of everyday activities that, if done correctly, will burn 200 or more calories in 30 minutes to an hour. Here are some activites to burn calories:


1. Go grocery shopping at least once a week for an hour to burn 260 calories.

2. Feed or bath the kids for an hour to burn also 260 calories.

3. Play with the kids for an hour to burn 300 calories.

4. Clean the house for an hour to burn 330 calories.

5. Go for a walk for an hour to burn 300 calories.

6. Tend the garden for an hour to burn 330 calories.

7. Dance untill you drop for 30 minutes to burn 233 calories.

Look at the word order:

Remember:


a) We add and “S” to the verbs with he, she, it. Example: She plays the guitar.


b) We use Don’t and Doesn’t for the negative form.

Don’t for I, we, you, they.

Doesn’t for he, she, it.


c) We use Do and Does in the interrogative form.

Do for I, we, you, they.

Does for he, she, it.
